The areas and the tracks

Middle-atlas: area of the cedars - medium mountains, mountain tracks.

High-atlas: mountain tracks, on montainsides, often narrow and at hight altitudes. Amazing landscapes. Populated area, very strong traditions. Periods from April to October (snow in winter, oueds in spate in spring season and by strong rain).

Anti-atlas: Arid mountain, little vegetation. Easy travelling tracks. Oueds' Valley with lush vegetation with surprising beauty. The progression is done slowly in the oued bed.

Desert: Ergs: sand dunes accumulated by the wind. The tracks bypass them. The dunes are generally laid out in parallel cords, to cross them is like gymkana.
Regs and Hamadas: arid stone desert, breakable tracks (for mechanics and the back). Dried Dayas : absolutely flat dried lakes. Marvellous for the driver.

The coast: Since the road follows the coast, the tracks had not maintained more... but there are still some!!! and superb beaches...
